Asbestos Containing Building Materials and Lead Paint Surveys

About this Project

In 2003, a forestry service turned to us to complete ACBM and lead-based paint surveys for 24 Forest Service buildings. The ACBM surveys entailed completing field sampling activities in accordance with State of Michigan and Federal regulations, including protocols outlined in the Asbestos Hazard and Emergency Response Act (AHERA).

The lead-based paint inspection was performed per U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidance documents outlining procedures for assessment of building materials for lead containing paint utilizing X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) analytical equipment coordination, completion of building surveys, labeling of asbestos materials, budget management, and all regulatory and internal reporting.

After completing all the field survey activities, we prepared an Asbestos and Lead Paint Survey Report presenting a summary of the location, type, and quantities of asbestos containing materials, summary of the location and results of XRF survey results, XRF performance characteristics sheets, copies of laboratory reports and test results, and red line facility drawings detailing sample locations.
